Using PowerPoint to Maximize Planning Your Wardrobe

Hear me out. And don’t laugh. I have the secret to a well organized work trip wardrobe. It’s Powerpoint, Google Slides or Keynote depending on your preference. In this article, I’ll show you how easy it is to pull together a whole and many looks using this very simple program. You can easily save it to your phone and won’t have to worry about placing all your clothes on the bed or floor for a mini photoshoot.

Once you’ve got the hang of the layout, this would be a great way to plan outfits for particularly busy weeks that may include work to cocktail hour or other events.

Two tips to keep in mind:

  1. Don’t worry about taking pictures of your clothes, just surf the web for the item or a similar looking item and copy + paste that to the slide.

  2. Learn how to remove the background on your respective program.

For IOS users to remove the background on Keynote (from Apple’s Support Page):

  1. Click the image to select it, then in the Format sidebar, click the Image tab.

  2. Click Instant Alpha

  3. On the image, click the color you want to remove, then drag slowly over it.

For OC users

  1. Select the picture.

  2. On the Picture Format tab of the ribbon, select Remove Background. If you don’t see Remove Background or the Picture Format tab, make sure that you’ve selected a picture. You might have to double-click the picture to select it and open the Picture Format tab.

  3. The Default background area is colored magenta to mark it for removal, while the foreground maintains its natural coloring.

Check out the image above for a quick example of what your business trip PowerPoint could look like. If you plan every other aspect of your work to reduce stress, why not extend that effort to your travel wardrobe?
