Mother’s Day is right around the corner and it can be challenging to get creative to show the mom in your life how much you appreciate her. Mother’s Day is not just a chance to shower our own moms with love and gifts, but it can be a chance to give a bestie or a sister a little something to let them know that you love and celebrate their hard work! Being a mom is a full time job! Try something new this Mother’s Day with our guide below to help you make this moment more than just a gift, but an experience she will always remember.

Day out  with friends
Let’s face it, most moms don’t have the time to enjoy brunch or a day shopping with their friends from pre-baby life. Sometimes it’s that nostalgic feeling of being able to frolic freely for one day that can be all a momma needs. Find a way to set up some time with a few gal pals for lunch or even a night out on the town (practice social distancing, of course). This may be exactly what the mom in your life needs to feel re-energized and maybe even more like herself again.

Kid Chefs
Especially in these pandemic times, moms are serving breakfast, lunch and dinner around the clock. Breakfast in bed never gets old. Give the mom in your life some time to just sit back while the kids whip up something simple. Make sure there is adult supervision. Don’t worry! It can be simple as a turkey sandwich and fruit. The tip here is make it fun and make it with love. No mom will turn down the chance to sit back and be served.

Workout
Kids or no kids. It’s just flat out hard to find time to hit the gym. This feeling can be overwhelming and bring on a lot of guilt as moms try and balance caring for their families and themselves. Show the mom in your life that you see her efforts and care for her by scheduling a trainer to come in physically or virtually to give her the reassurance that she can do this. Post signs of encouragement all the around to remind her that she’s beautiful and resilient. Self-care is the best thing a mom can do to be strong for her loved ones.

 Wine tasting
Wine tasting can be a fun way to either go to a vineyard and disappear for a day or try out a flight of wines and indulge at a tasting room in your city. If she enjoys a good glass of vino, look for tasting rooms nearby that she can learn about different wines with a few friends and enjoy the night off. Send an Uber to pick her up and drop her off and she will feel super special for a moment to pause in her day.

At-home Spa
Going to the spa is either not an option or still risky due to COVID-19. But, that doesn’t have to stop you from creating a zen like experience at home. Gather a few items like eucalyptus leaves, massage oil, foot spa, nail polish, a fluffy robe, towels and slippers. Add the the fresh eucalyptus to the shower by tying a string around the stems and hanging it over the shower head. This will provide a fresh and relaxing fragrance. Let mom relax in a hot steamy shower. Allow her partner or even the kids massage her feet, shoulders and or back. For the grand finale, finish with a nice manicure and pedicure. Don’t forget the bubbly! Every spa provides a nice beverage. You can start with hot tea or glass of champagne before her bath, then infuse her water with lemon and mint leaves for post-massage hydration. Don’t worry about perfection, the spa-like experience from the ones she loves will make her heart smile and body smile.

Whatever you decide, just remember to take time to celebrate the moms in your life. Coordinate early and be thoughtful. Being a mom is the hardest and often one of the most thankless jobs. Let her know the invisible work that she puts in is seen and celebrated. Happy Mother’s Day from the LNQ Family!
