5 Tips for boosting creativity when you’re out of ideas
I’m Erica, a creative entrepreneur, a social media director, brand manager, and a nurse. I’m always creating. My favorite part about creating is the process. The aspect of the process I love the most is the part when you’re almost done and you can see the light at the end of your idea. That part of the process gives me the push I need to finish. Sometimes, it's difficult to get there. Sometimes the idea stops and I can’t think of anything to bring my vision to life. When this happens I do a couple of things listed below. Let me know what you do when you're running low on creative juice and if these tips helped you.
Step away. Stepping away from the project allows you to separate your mind and come back with a fresh set of eyes
Coloring. Adult coloring is my go to for relaxation & creativity. There’s something empowering about choosing hues and expressing your artistic vision.
Play music you love. Listening to music makes me want to move my body or sing loudly. When I’m done I feel ready to go after my next task.
Phone a friend. Do you have those transforming conversations with your friends? I have so many powerful women and men in my circle. I love that I can call any of them and they talk me through whatever blockage I’m facing that is limiting my creativity.
Sitting still. There is power in stillness and meditation. I know you’ve heard this before but when you believe it is when you’re truly ready to create.
